During my Christmas stay, I absolutely loved the private spa at the hotel. It was nestled deep in a picturesque valley by a clear stream, creating a truly tranquil and romantic atmosphere. Access to the spa was through a beautiful wooden corridor with a roof, giving it a traditional and rustic feel. One of the best aspects was that it was a konyoku, or mixed spa, which added a unique and adventurous element to the bathing experience. I appreciated that the hotel had separate hours for women only at the main spa, ensuring everyone's comfort. there were two private spas available for an extra fee, providing an exclusive and intimate bathing experience.
Although the hotel had its charms, I must admit that it was quite shabby and worn-out. Visiting during the off-season, it seemed like a ghost town with very few guests and even some dilapidated buildings nearby.

We spent a memorable New Year's holiday at a traditional Japanese hotel nestled in a tranquil valley. the private spa, located down a wooden corridor with hundreds of steps, was a highlight of our stay. the crystal, clear stream and mixed, gender bathing made it a unique and romantic experience. the staff were welcoming, and the traditional meals served in our room were delicious. We also enjoyed exploring the surrounding countryside, including a visit to a nearby temple.
